HR Excellence in Research

HR Excellence in Research Dated June 2015, Hospital del Mar Research Institute  has been recognized by the European Commission with the “HR Excellence in Research” award. This recognition highlights Hospital del Mar Research Institute  commitment towards adopting the general principles of the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers (Charter&Code) and gives its full support to the improvement of human resources internal policies and procedures.

This recognition of excellence is an opportunity to establish a global and cohesive human resources strategy which will allow for an international visibility provided by a stimulating work environment and favorable working conditions for research.

Human Resources Strategy for Researchers (HRS4R) is the European Commission’s established tool for the application of the principles of both the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers, based on 5 steps the institution must follow:

  1. Internal analysis on the Charter & Code (Gap Analysis) general principles implementation.
  2. Based on the results, development of human resources own strategy for researchers outlined within the Action Plan which will be published on the institution’s website.
  3. Review of both the internal analysis and action plan and recognition from the European Commission. This recognition allows the use of the “HR Excellence in Research” logotype.
  4. Implementation of the actions and self- evaluation of the process after two years.
  5. External evaluation after four years and recognition renewal.

Open, Transparent and Merit-based Recruitment of Researchers policy

IMIM is committed to an Open, Transparent and Merit-based Recruitment, which is one of the pillars of the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers.

The IMIM recruitment policy establishes the criteria and procedures for complying with these principles as well as with labour, equality and data protection legislation.
