The Epidemiology and Public Health Program (EPHP) includes groups dedicated to epidemiology research, mainly based on general population studies. Most of its researchers come from long research careers, with a recognized international competence and collaboration lebel, as well as a well established relationship with different groups  of  the Hospital del Mar. An important part of researchers are professors at the Autonomous  University of Barcelona (UAB) and at the Pompeu Fabra University (UPF).

EPHP is a mixed program between IMIM and the Researh Centre for Environmental Epidemiology (CREAL). 

The groups and their chairs are:

• Clinical and molecular epidemiology of cancer, Miquel Porta
• Drug abuse epidemiology, Antonia Domingo
• Occupational and environmental epidemiology, Manolis Kogevinas (CREAL-IMIM)
• Epidemiology and evaluation , Maria Sala
• Respiratory health, air pollution, childhood development, Jordi Sunyer (CREAL-IMIM)
• Health services, Jordi Alonso

Five of the six groups are currently involved in CIBERESP, the Ciber for Epidemiology and Public Health, and some of the staff belong to the Ciber.
