List of substances

a. Recommendation from the Group of European Experts (Revista de Toxicologia, 1997, 14:19).

b. Identification of specific substances might be needed for an accurate interpretation of results. Therefore, PCQ includes the analysis of the following substances routinely:

  • 6-monoacethylmorphine, codeine, morphine-3-glucuronide, codeine-6-glucuronide (the minimal concentration for these 4 substances is 200 µg/l) and compounds related to opiates
  • ecgonine methyl ester for cocaine (the minimal concentration is 200 µg/l).

c. Free + combined = total morphine (this concentration can only be obtain after the hydrolysis of the sample).
